  • Abstract: In the scope of his Master’s thesis, Johannes Schlatow has been working on implementing a reconfiguration infrastructure for (isolated) software applications in MicroC/OS-II MMU. For this purpose, an application model has been developed that describes applications as isolated guest components with corresponding communication channels. Moreover, a new software module has been implemented that conducts the actual reconfiguration of the hypervisor in order to add or remove a particular application. As it turned out, the crucial part of the reconfiguration task is not the setup of applications but the proper shutdown of an application and its communication channels once it shall be removed from the system. Apart from presenting preliminary work, this talk will also provide a context for CCC and relate this work to the prospective use of an L4-based microkernel.
